Pascal Girot se desempeña actualmente como director de la Escuela de Geografía de la Universidad de Costa Rica, donde enseña hace más de 33 años. Ha dictado cursos de ordenamiento territorial, gestión ambiental, gestión de riesgos y geografía económica.

Nuestro conferencista del día de hoy estudió en Francia y en Estados Unidos. Tiene un Diplôme de Études Approfondies (DEA) en Geografía de la Universidad de París III, Francia. Tiene un Master of Science en Geografía de la Universidad de Wisconsin y un Bachelors of Arts en Geografía de Clark University, en Estados Unidos.

Hasta marzo de 2018 estuvo trabajando como coordinador de proyecto y asesor del Ministro de Ambiente y Energía de Costa Rica en temas de cambio climático. Es miembro del equipo negociador de cambio climático de Costa Rica desde el 2014. Ha trabajado como consultor internacional durante los últimos treinta año para PNUD, ONU Ambiente, BID, Banco Mundial y FAO, entre otras instituciones. Además ha sido consultor en Centroamérica y el Caribe en temas de política ambiental, ordenamiento territorial, gestión del riesgo y adaptación al cambio climático. Ha participado en misiones post-desastres en varios países del mundo (India, Argentina, Bolivia, Haití y Centroamérica).

Tiene más de 25 artículos publicados en revistas especializadas y capítulos de libros.
